Tahara Keiichi's photo book "TAHARA KEIICHI 1973-1983" is a large-format collection of two of his early representative series, "Window (Fenêtre) 1973-1980" and "Éclat (Éclat) 1979-1983."
Known as the "photographer of light," Tahara honed his talent for light through his experience in lighting and video in a theater company, and lived in Paris since the 1970s, where he was highly praised for his monochrome works that skillfully manipulated light and shadow. This book was published by Goro International Press in 1984 and won the Japan Photographic Society Newcomer's Award and the 10th Kimura Ihei Photography Award.
The text was written by Osamu Hiraki, a member of the independently run gallery Prism who later became a successful photography critic.
